September 9, 2017 : 20000 people visited our HP ! Tamiya Homepage was recorded by 20000 visitors on September 9, 2017. Especially at the beginning of a month certain peoples visit our Home Page regularly, who see the Cats' news. The business of the shop is still not good because of the deflation, and our old-fashioned company can supply only ordinal goods. But I am now very busy because of the Chairwoman of the Kyoubashi 2-chome Higashi neighborhood self-governing body. September 1, 2017 : Kyobashi 2-chome Bon Festival Dance in 2017 The Kyobashi Edo Grand was opened. We gathered residents and working people here in Kyobashi, then we held the Bon Festival Dance 2017. I, myself pronounced an opening ceremony speech as the Chairwoman of the Kyobashi 2-chome Higashi. The Festival was held on September 2 too.

November 2016 : Completion of the Edo Grand The Edo Grand had been constructed for few years on Kyobashi 2-Chome West and completed in November 2016. This is directly connected with the Kyobashi Station in the Subway Ginza-Line. The shop of Tamiya is on the opposite side of the Chuoh Street against the Edo Grand. Please see the suare red lower map and come to the cats street showed by a red line.

January 1, 2015 : A Happy New Year !  This year is 100 years after foundation. A Happy New Year ! The Abenomics gave nothing us as a small company. The Election for the House of the Representatives was over and the voting percentage was about 52.66%, the worst after the 2nd World War. However we expect that the new year 2015 brings more active economy to all Japanese. We wish all of you are in a good health peacefully throughout this year 2015 ! This year is 100 years after our grandfather had founded his shop in Kyobashi, Tokyo in 1915. Thank you for your continuous business support also in 2015.

June 14-15, 2014 : Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja is held in June once evry 2 years. "Jinkousai-Festival" is a grace and dignified parade as a dynasty picture scroll held by the Hie-Jinja itself. This Parade has held on June 13 (Friday) this year. The Parade started 7:30 in the morning from the Akasaka Hie-Jinja, then walked through Ujiko-towns, Kojimachi, Yotsuya, Kudan, around the Imperial Palace and arrived at 13:30 in Nihonbashi Hie-Jinja. At 14:25 after a rest the Parade started again and walked through Nihonbashi, Kyoubashi, Ginza, Shinbashi along the Central Street and Ginza Street, returned to Yurakuchou along the Yamanote-Line, then through Uchisaiwaichou, Kasumigaseki, Nagatachou and 17:00 came back Akasaka Hie-Jinja. About the exact course map in Japanese please click here ! This map was downloaded from the official web site of Akasaka Hie-Jinja. In Kyobashi 2-Chome East on July 12 (Thursday) there was Yoinomiya (Eve-Festival) and the contributers of the town were invited to the dinner. Our Kyobashi 2-Chome East celeblated the Festival this year too with Kyobashi 2-Chome West and Yaesu 2-Chome Middle. The snap shots of the Festival on June 15 (Sunday) are showed as follows. Go to the Festoval on the Cats Street. Then cats say "Go ahead, please". "Omikisho" was held on the building site of Meiji-ya Store. On 15 (Sunday) there was no construction and very quiet, but on 14 (Saturday) the building site were while at work and it was very hard to speak and to hear. But this place faced the Central Street and nice place. Many contributions were dedicated for the Festival this year too. "Omikoshi" of Kyobashi 2-Chome East on the Central Street before the Kyobashi Crossing The left foto shows "Omikoshi" in the "Omikisho" and the Shinto Priest took off the Soul of the Hie-Jinja from our "Omikoshi". The Festival of this year was ended smoothly. Many people helped us as helpers, but we were very sorry not to serve with drinks and beverages to all people. Contrary to our expectations it was an intense heat day.

January 1, 2014 : A Happy New Year! A happy new year ! Under the economical Policy of Abe- Liberal Democratic Party the low YEN rate raise prices for all imported materials, oils etc. Small companies have no merit with this Policy. Prime Minister Abe visited Yasukuni Shrine at the end of the year 2013, which causes trouble in some countries in Asia. He is the top of Japanese officers and so he must act everything more carefully. However we expect that the new year 2014 brings more active economy to all Japanese. We wish all of you are in a good health peacefully throughout this year 2014 !

January 1, 2013 : A Happy New Year! A happy new year ! Without stopping from 2011 also in 2012 the Japanese Economy affected by the slump of the world economy. Especially the last year from Autumn was getting bad and we hope that this year is a calm and quiet. We wish all of you are in a good health peacefully throughout this year 2013 !

June 9-10, 2012 : Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja is held in June once evry 2 years. "Jinkousai-Festival" is a grace and dignified parade as a dynasty picture scroll held by the Hie-Jinja itself. There are 2 kinds of Omikoshi (portable shrines), one belong to the shrine and another belong to Ujiko-towns (the towns of parishioner of the shrine). This Parade has walked through Ujiko-towns on June 8 (Friday) this year. 500 parade attendants were dressed in dynasty costume and the length of the parade was about 300 m. On June 6 (Wednesday) Naruhit-Imperial Prince (friendly called the Mustache-Prince as his personal appearance) passed away and then a celebration of this parade was canceled at "Sakashitamon-Gate" of Imperial Palace this year. This year our Kyobashi 2-Chome East celeblated the Festival together with Kyoubashi 2-Chome West and Yaesu 2-Chome Middle, and 3 Towns carried our Omikoshi of Kyoubashi 2-Chome East. On June 7 (Thursday) there was Yoinomiya (Eve-Festival) and we invited contributers of the Town to the dinner. On the evening of June 8 (Friday) the Kyobashi Ichinobu-Youth Group opened Omikoshi Demo-Parade for the people, who are working here in Kyoubashi area. Of course the Youth Group prepared "Hanten" (a short special coat for carrying the Omikoshi) for those people. The highlight was Omikoshi parade on June 10 (Sunday). 5 Omikoshis of Nihonbashi-Towns started at 9:30 from Nihonbashi Sessha (subsidiary shirine od Akasaka Hie-Jinja). At 10:50 on the Suzurandohri-Street further 5 Omikoshis joined and total 10 Omikoshis arrived at 11:00 on Yaesu 3-Chome. Meanwhile at 12:45 on Chuodohri-Street total 12 Omikoshis of Kyoubashi Towns (our Mikoshi belongs to this group.) and Nihonbashi Towns joined and Omikoshi parade was started at 13:10. These Omikoshis were carried on Chuodohri-Street to Nihonbashi-Bridge and arrived there from 14:30 to 15:00. About the exact journey map of these Omikoshis in Japanese please click here ! The snap shots of the festival on June 10 (Sunday) are showed as follows. The left foto shows the Omikoshi of our Kyobashi 2-Chome East, which was passing front of the Meiji-Ya Store. The right foto shows our "Omikisho" where our Omikoshi was diplayed during the festival. People, especially women who came from 3 Towns and served the guests meals and drinks at "Omikisho" of Kyoubashi 2-Chome East. The closing speech by 3 Presidents of 3 Towns (Kyoubashi 2-Chome East and west, and Yaesu 2-Chome Middle) At the end of the festival the Shinto priest took off the Soul of the Hie-Jinja from our Omikoshi. In the daytime we couldn't see any cats on the Cats Strret, but when Tamiya people came back to the shop in the evening, Chiro-chan (right) and Rin-shan (left) appeared and called for dinner.

January 1, 2012 : A Happy New Year! A happy new year ! In 2011 we Japanese had the East Japan Katastrope and we were affected also by the slump of the world economy. March 27, 2011 : Change of the sales time because of the East Japan Great Earthquake The shop's opening time is from 8:00 to 16:30 on weekdays. The shop closes in Saturday, Sunday and Holodays.

January 1, 2011 : A Happy New Year! A happy new year ! We had a hottest summer last year and now we have very cold winter. Of course we cannot change the nature what we want, however we can change own mind by our effort. Because of this critical period we want to let our mind keep sound, not temperamental like a weather. June 12-13, 2010 : Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja The Sanno-Festival was held on June 12 (Saturday) and 13 (Sunday), 2010. The Kyoni-Omikoshi was carried by peopel of Kyobashi 2-chome on the Ginza Street. About the origin on the Kyoni-Omikoshi please refer to the following description on the following foto. We are sorry the descripotion only in Japanese. The foto in left is Omikishi, that shows the spirit of the Hie-Jinja. The foto in right shows the sleeping cat on the Cats' street, beause thie street is away from the Ginza Street. The cats sleeps peacefully on the street having a complete different air from the Festival noises. The cat's foto in detail is on the right under 2 steps lower. Owing to the Bankrupt of an American global investment bank, Lehman Brothers in the middle of September of 2008 we cannot see the bottom of the economic depression this year 2009 too. June 14-15, 2008 : Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja The Sanno-Festival was held every other year on June 14 (Saturday) and 15 (Sunday), 2008 being luckly to have nice weather. The Kyoni-Omikoshi (belongs to the Kyobashi 2-chome) was carried by people of Kyobashi 2-chome on the Ginza-street. Behind the Omikoshi there were Kappore dancers. Thank you for the companies and people who contributed and related to this festival. The Kyoni-Omikoshi was carried near the Cats Street and some cats paid attention to festival noises.

December 1, 2007 : A member of the Symbiotic Activities for Pets Symbiotic promoting man / women are people, who drive promotions for the Symbiotic Activities for Pets under the Law of Animal Protection and Care, the Direction of the Ministry of the Environment and the Regulation of Tokyo Metropolitan Government by a proposal of the Conference for the Protection and Care to Animals of Chuo City. About 100 people are commissioned by the Mayor of Chuo City. This time Ms Ichikawa of "Tamiya" is commissioned and another member of this area is Ms Natsuko Oe of "Mokkei (Classic Arts Shop)" in Kyobashi 1-chome. If you want to consult about cats, please come to us and we will be a help to you.

January 1, 2007 : A Happy New Year! With all good wishes for a happy New Year! And we wish all of you a happiness throughout the year 2007 !

June 9-11, 2006 : Sanno-Festival of Akasaka Hie-Jinja The Jinkousai-Festival, the big parade consisting of the big Shrine-Dashi (Horen), the Shrine-Omikoshi (portable shrine), 500 people wearing old Japanese costumes and 600m long, was held every other year on June 9, Friday unfortunately in the rainy day. On the next day, Saturday, the Kyouni-Omikoshi (belongs to the Kyobashi 2-chome) was carried by people of Kyobashi 2-chome and Nihonbashi, both areas are joint partners this year, including foreigners on the Ginza-street from Kyobashi to Nihonbashi. Behind the Omikoshi there were Kappore dancers. On June 11, Sunday it was unluckly rainy, however many people were coming and joined. Kyobashi and Nihonbashi areas are business town, but this weekend showed a downtown atomosphere having a long tradition in Japan. Thank you for the companies and people who contributed and related to this festival. (The Kyouni-Omikoshi was carried near the Cats Street and the cats might be frightened of noises.)

January 1, 2006 : A Happy New Year ! Best Wishes to you for a Happy New Year ! We thank you for your patronage to our shop last year. We pray that you are good in health this year receiving the grace of God. And do your best in everything. Last year there were troubles and accidents which had never happened until now. Sometimes the problem happened which casued a distrust of human. However we pray this year that this godless time has passed and we are able to have better time. We pray God for happiness to all of you and cats !

February 9-20, 2005 : Rope magic on Mr. Maric's miracle dream show Mr. Maric's miracle dream show No.1 is holding at the Hakuhinkan theater near the JR-Shinbashi Station from February 9, Wednesday to 20, Sunday. "The most entertaining one is a miracle and the biggest laugh is a surprise." is the theme of the Miracle dream show No.1. We can enjoy 2 hours, with dream and without a present reality, to see the magic show of young magicians, whom Mr Maric certified. The story teller is Mr. Masao Komatsu disguised as late Mr. Nagaharu Yodogawa, very famous movie commentator, and he presides the show with young magicians. There are many magics as the magic draem by Mr. Maric to a quiet rope magic by young magician. It is a must for the people who is interesting in magic. The left under photo shows Mr. Maric and President Mr. Yamada of Firm Tenyo, the big seller of magic goods, and the right under photo is a part of the cover page of the show-catalogue. The color of the places of A and of B look like different darkness for human eyes, but the same. It is a magic. You can compare the RGB values with the places A and B and find the same values.

January 2, 2005 : The Movie "Odoru Daisosasen II" on the Air The big topic police movie "Odoru Daisosasen 2 (The Dancing Dragnet; The Movie 2; A Blockade the Rainbowbridge !)", which is talked about among young people from the spring of the year 2003, was on the Air on January 1, 2005. Our special made Red ropewas used as the important movie property. The murder spot is surrounded with this red rope like a spider web, and moreover the rope is tied very skillfully and carefully. The red color is remarkable and we forget for a moment this scene is the murder spot. The tying of the rope is a special way and is often tied among SM players. An tying experiment at the Police office uses the red rope and the red rope is also left at the murderer's place. The red rope is used 3 times, which are very important scenes. This red rope looks like a normal rope at a glance. However if we use our business word, then we say this is not rope but cord, namely, Cotten Braid with core. The outside skin called GAWAHIMO is very thin and the material of a braid core is soft, flexible but strong using our idea. This braid needs during 50 days from cotton thread through braid and dyeing to finish. About 30 years ago, the late and first President, Founder Tamiya made this special braid for magicians. Now it is a little thicker and heavier and is used very few for magic. But this braid is used for other purposes and we prepared colored braids by request. We are handling ropes and cords about 90 years, and are very pleased that this classic and hand-made braid is used in the movie as an important role.

No.3 : Topics all about cats

June 1, 2009 : 100 Issues of "The Cats Street" No. 1 of "The Cats Street" was published in January 2002, and reported that 2 cats (Nozomi-chan and Hikari-chan) had contraceptive operations using the Fujiko-Fund, which was established for the contraception for cats and by which Fujiko-chan was first operated. At last on June 1, 2009 No. 100 of "The Cats Street" was published. During this period many things happened, but we can continue to publisch the cats news with your cooperation, which we thank you. Sometimes the Cats had appeared a few times on TV. To our regret Nozomi-chan was disappeared but Hikari-chan is well in good health now. Could you please look after the cats on the Cats Street hearafter too. Thank you for your kind cooperation.

May 7, 2009 : A bench was placed on the Cats Street. We could buy a bench by a sales profit of the free market held on the Cats Street. Please sit down on the bench and relax between the lunch time.

June 11, 2007 : I lost my way in Tokyo. I lost my way on the street of Kyobashi 2-chome Nishi in tokyo on last Friday, June 8, 2007. A kind lady found me and took me to the Cats Street of Kyobashi 2-chome. I have cut my teeth and can eat canned foods but am not familiar with dry foods. I was brought to Kawagoe in Saitama-ken, north of Tokyo because it is not easy to live a youngest cat alone over the weekend in the big city. I make a close friend with Marron of the beagle.

April 20, 2007 : Mr. Mainoumi came to our Cats Street. On April 16, Mondauy and 20, Friday, 2007 Mr. Mainoumi, the former Komusubi of Sumo wrestler came to our Cats Street. We were taken films and interviewed for a Saturday morning program of Nihon TV called "Drop in the Metro Ginza-Line". We will be on the air on May 12, Saturday. However we were noticed that our scene will be off the air because of the program arrangement. We are sorry to bother people who wait for that TV program.

January 01, 2006 : I am Maru-chan. I came this street from Februay 2005 to get food. At the beginning I couldn't have a friendship with other cats and I came home after I had eaten enough. People call me Yamato-kun of black cat, but I have a name of Maru-chan at my place in Kyoubashi 1-chome. I ignored the calling. In April I didn't know why people knew my name but people call me Maru-chan. I spent much time in May and I joined cats on this street at last in Summer. I ate always another helping and am getting bigger. Thank you for your help in future too.

February 01, 2005 : Present cats on "The Cats Street" A small HIKARI-chan (Left, female) is here since old times. She slept well like a log on the cane bed because of the cold winter. HANAKO-chan (Right, female) struggled to get the bed wuth KOTARO-kun. After we made a carton bed with a blanket for KOTARO-kun, then there was no struggle and HANAKO-chan slept well like a log on the cane bed. KOTARO-kun (Left, male) was small but is getting bigger and has an intrepid face, so we should call him TARO-kun without KO. (KO menas small person in Japanese.) Then he acts like elder brother. CHIRO-kun (Center, male) is also getting bigger. Newcomer, YAMATO-kun (Right, male), who is a black cat on TV CM 'Kuroneko Yamato Takkyubin (Door to door parcel delivery)' keeps quiet during meal.

September 24, 2004 : The Cats were on air in TV program "Pochi Tama" of TV Tokyo, Channel 12 from 19:00 on September 24 (Fri.). Our "Cats" were on air around 19:15 at TV program "Pochi Tama" of TV Tokyo, Channel 12 on September 24, Friday. The cats are introduced as cats living with people in Kyobashi, the center of Tokyo.

August 11, 2004 : "The Cats Street" on location for TV program "Pochi Tama" of TV Tokyo, Channel 12 On August 11, 2004 (Wednessday) our "The Cats Street" was on location for TV program "Pochi Tama" of TV Tokyo, Channel 12 from early morning to evening by a cameraman and an assistant. Today was also very hot day and 37th continuing hot summer days from July 6. This TV program is very popular animal program in the Friday night of 19:00 called "Pochi Tama". To our regret, the famous dog of this program "Masao-kun" didn't come. However our cats cannot understand language, so the Cameraman took movies all day long. There are 2 pot plants of 'Duranta' on "the Cats Street". The flowers are now in full bloom and people, who come and exchange words with cats in lunch time, feast their eyes on the beautiful flower.

Where is "The Cats Street" ?

There are some spaces in downtowns before, but there are no open spaces in Kyobashi 2-chome because of many building sites. There are also many stray cats (homeless cats) more than supposition in the center of Tokyo, and these cats were sometimes killed by traffic accidents. We called the branch road front of our shop "The Cats Street", and rear these cats with care of everyone's good faith not to bother people.
